Did you know that in one year a single tree filters 60 pounds of pollutants from the air? That’s right; trees are Mother Nature’s hidden super power, allowing us human beings and our animal friends to live on this amazing planet. Some more super powers these towering beauties give off…
In one year, a single healthy tree can:
- Absorb 750 gallons of storm water, preventing erosion and protecting water quality
- The shade and wind buffering provided by trees reduces annual heating and cooling costs by 2.1 billion dollars. One tree has the same cooling effect as ten room-sized air conditioners running continually.
- One tree can absorb as much carbon in a year as a car produces while driving 26,000 miles
Trees are the longest living organisms on the planet and one of the earth's greatest natural resources. Being the longest makes them the oldest, which means they are pretty wise… They keep our air supply clean, reduce noise pollution, improve water quality, help prevent erosion, provide food and building materials, create shade, and help make our landscapes look beautiful.
